Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to support the daily operations, maintenance, and optimisation of our client's Data Centre and Core Network infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end lifecycle of network components, supporting project delivery, performing upgrades, and contributing to infrastructure refresh initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and maintain a robust network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, Wireless, TACACS, and Firewall systems.
- Monitor network health and performance, proactively addressing issues to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency.
- Configure and manage network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, ACI, and VPN/microsegmentation tools.
- Lead and support network upgrades, migrations, and integration projects, including planning, testing, and documentation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other IT teams to resolve system-related issues and drive seamless integration.
- Maintain detailed and accurate network documentation—diagrams, IP schemas, change records, and configurations.
- Respond to incidents and outages, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support as needed.
- Ensure compliance with change and configuration management policies.
- Liaise with vendors and external partners for troubleshooting and escalation support.
What's Required:
- Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience in network infrastructure operations, design, and implementation.
- Strong operational knowledge of Cisco routers/switches, Cisco ACI, Fortinet Firewalls, F5 Load Balancers, Aruba Wireless, Aruba ClearPass, and SolarWinds.
- Deep understanding of core networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS).
- Solid grasp of the OSI/TCP-IP models and enterprise-level network design (segmentation, segregation, SDN).
- Experience with network monitoring, diagnostics, and analytics tools.
- Knowledge of the ITIL framework and project management life cycle is preferred.
- Programming experience with Python is an added advantage.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CCNP are essential.
- Additional certifications in SDN, firewall, or cloud networking are advantageous.
